Launceston expo gives training and work opportunities

Hundreds of training and work opportunities are available at the expo in Launceston today. The expo is the latest one among the expos held around the world since 2009. This is being opened by Julie Collins, the minister for Indigenous Employment and Economic Development.

Australia JobsMs Collins said “We know this formula works—bringing employers, job seekers and training providers together in a single location”.

In Hobart, the expo has been held this year and drew 2500 people. It gave more than 220 people employment and training opportunity.

The Launceston expo will have list of current job opportunities, along with a skills board to promote training opportunities present in the local area by the local skills training organizations.

Mr Lyons said “Exhibiting is free and I encourage local employers to get on board. If you can’t be an exhibitor, your job vacancy or skills training opportunity can still be displayed at the expo”.

Location: The expo is at the Albert Hall, 45 Tamar Street, from 10 am to 3 pm.
